Election 2008 Update

- Politics -

I am one of many on the Barack Obama “hope train” toward history. He stands out, to me, as the most viable candidate who can make his favorite word happen — CHANGE. I’m sold on Obama standing tall as the leading candidate to change the way Washingtonians do their politicking. He gets the ear of both Republicans and Democrats. His voting record is seen as very “liberal” but he has friends on both sides of the political fence. We need a uniter running the U.S. of A., not a divider — as we do now.

Hillary Clinton staring down Barack Obama HARD!At any rate, history will be made this year. Hillary Clinton won the New Hampshire primary and today won the Nevada caucus. (Obama claims to have won more delegates than Clinton) Although Obama is considered the rock star of the election, Clinton has the name that people know. She is successful by both riding her husband and ex-president Bill’s coattails, and also many women who stand strong for a serious bit of change in America.

Years ago, neither African-Americans or women could vote. This year, one of the candidates for the United States presidency will be either a woman or an African-American.

On the Republican side, Senator John McCain won the South Carolina primary today, with the Arkansan Mike Huckabee coming in second place. Mitt Romney won in Nevada and Michigan. Who’s going to win the Republican primaries in the end? Nobody knows. There are a cluster-funk of candidates battling back and forth, and surely it’ll remain that way until the national convention. If I had to choose between them, I would choose the funniest one. But hey, that’s just little ol’ me.
